Benefits of a kitchen garden

  • Production

Arguably one of the most rewarding feelings as a gardener is the ability to harvest and cook from your kitchen garden daily. Plus, who doesn’t love one less trip to the grocery store? Kitchen gardens are bountiful because raised beds allow for better control of soil health, improve water drainage, and soil temperatures are higher than in-ground planting.

  • Beauty and Aesthetics

A kitchen garden will quickly become your favorite spot in the yard. Kitchen gardens that have been professionally designed feature key elements such as pathways, trellises, borders, native plants + pollinators, and raised garden beds, leaving a breathtaking scenery. This focal point in your space also provides a boost in your home value.

  • Experience and Learning

Yes, kitchen gardens teach us how to be a better gardener, but there are a lot of life lessons to be had as well. These include faith, confidence, patience, commitment, independence, bravery, contentment, and surrender. A kitchen garden also helps us remain grounded and release stress.

  • Making a Difference in the World

We can give nature back as much as it gives us, one garden at a time. A kitchen garden can help minimize pollutants in air, water, and soil. They support pollinators and natural enemies. They encourage and protect biodiversity and mimic essential ecological processes.
